The Raw Report: Eclipse Interrupted
See No Spin. Hear No Noise. Speak No Nonsense.Trigger Warning for the Virgo Partial New Moon Eclipse. The Raw Report Issue 08
Moon Mood
Obviously, we took a hiatus from the RR last week. The energy was thick — and not in a sexy Megan Thee Stallion way.
There was public mourning, and the political winds were weaponized (the final throes of Mars ending his transit in Libra).
Let’s get crystal clear: Cosmic Sushi is not a political newsletter. We consider ourselves astro-journalists. We hold equal side-eye for both parties. But we feel it important to note the following:
If you’re running for office, we should know your political views.
And we likely won’t trust them.
But if you’re not, and just push your political opinion unsolicited? Be the change instead of just typing about it.
In the meantime, Cosmic Sushi reserves the right to both love you and ignore you at the same time.
Don’t believe me? Just ask my therapist.
Collective Karma?
Some people have compared the shooting of Kirk to that of MLK. I wasn’t alive then. But the energy feels 9/11-ish… a perfect stage for freedoms to be stripped (insert the infamous Patriot Act and welcome the TSA) and another excuse to incite war under murky conditions. Wait a second. Did we ever find those WMDs? I can’t remember.
And why wouldn’t it?
Similar to 9/11, the Sun was at 18 Virgo, Jupiter was also in emo Cancer, and the North Node, again, in a water sign (Cancer then, Pisces now). With the transit South Node conjunct the Sun at the degree of the WTC1 attack? If your spidey senses aren’t buzzing, you really need to get off tap water. Reminder: according to James Burgess, the Sabian Symbol for Virgo 18 is a “Ouija Board.” He writes:
Knowledge is not complete unless both the rational and non-rational aspects are considered. In the modern world we can see that greater emphasis is placed on scientific method yet, though a minority, esotericists have also kept pace with an evolution of consciousness associated with the more intuitive, right brain approach.
—from James Burgess
However, in 2001 Pluto was in Sagittarius and the North Node in Cancer. Mutable fire rules beliefs, higher learning, and international travel. The effects of 9/11 still reverberate — you can’t freely move about the cabin. The Cancerian North Node demanded we protect the homeland — and we believed we did.
Now Pluto is in fixed air Aquarius and the North Node in Pisces, which rules faith, delusion, and propaganda. Are we watching our rights to express ourselves in digital communities restricted under a larger (perhaps covert) political agenda?
The scene that played out on our devices last week was just as traumatizing for this generation as 2001 was for us. Violence is violence, regardless of party. But the line between hate speech and speech we hate keeps blurring. With the South Node conjunct the Sun at the same degree as 9/11, the karmic question for Americans is this: what did we learn then that we can carry forward now — with compassion for the impacted, while protecting our rights as a people?
The irony of this eclipse at the critical degree of one of the zodiac’s most self-critical signs should not be lost on us. This eclipse doesn’t call for perfection — it calls us to do it better.
Extreme Energetics
In my piece Solstice, Ceasefire or Cosmic Coup, I talked about the starry setup for conflict among the people or a collective uprising (both possibilities with Pluto in Aquarius). With the Autumnal Equinox at 1:19 PM CDT Monday, September 22nd — less than 24 hours after the Virgo partial solar eclipse on Sunday, September 21st at 2:54 PM CDT — and an Air Grand Trine starring Mercury at 5° Libra (soon to be the Sun), Uranus in Gemini, and Pluto in Aquarius (with the Sun soon to join), our starry stage is lit by celestial alignments never recorded in public ephemerides.
Solar Eclipse at 29 Virgo — September 21, 2:54 PM CDT. The anaretic degree + opposing Saturn in Pisces.
Mars Enters Scorpio — September 22, 2:54 AM CDT. Sextiles Venus in Virgo but immediately squares Pluto in Aquarius
Sun Enters Libra (Autumnal Equinox) — September 22, 1:19 PM CDT. Immediately opposing Neptune in Aries + trines Uranus in Gemini + trines Pluto in Aquarius
Add three Yods pointing to hyper-discriminating Venus in Virgo, an engorged Mars in Scorpio, and Neptune just-getting-warmed-up in Aries before a retrograde? Yods are often referenced as the “finger of God.” It will likely feel more like this.
Navigating the Uncharted
Divine guidance will not be obvious to mere mortals.
This is the ultimate soul trust fall.
Luckily the North Node and Saturn are both in Pisces. We are divinely guided to go with the flow, accept, and surrender to infinite potential. And if you’ve been white-knuckle Virgoing this sh*t in spite of my cautions (reference my last piece The 3 Characters Who Will Probably Break)? This is likely your end result.
Access the piece here.
Is this the whole Report?
Kind of.
I’m publishing this Raw Report as it is today to keep the vibes high and avoid starting 💩 during a dark moon. The other half of the Report got way more conspiratorial in nature (likely effect of my natal 8H moon).
Still, I find it curious — almost too curious — that a high-profile funeral coincides exactly with this solar eclipse. The Sabian Symbol for 29 Virgo? “A Man gaining secret knowledge.”
In the meantime, I’ve saved the rest of the piece for myself. Or at least until after this eclipse is over and enough of you tell me you’re into high strange too.
XO,
Cosmic
Read it. Roast it. Repost it.
And if you want access to the hidden stuff, drop me your safe word and your Mars ♂️ placement below.

My Mars sadly is in cancer. So I guess my safe word is mummy.
If we are whole housing - it’s in the 8th (but it’s in the 7th really)
Mars Aqua in the 7th natally...we're supposed to have a safe word? LOL. Uncle? For those old enough to appreciate that one. ;)
