Reading this made me realize my concern is almost the opposite. I'm not afraid of losing my voice. I'm hoping that, as I get better at articulating my thoughts, the writing becomes a more faithful expression of them. For me, the challenge isn't preserving the prose. It's making sure the prose never becomes more important than the ideas it's trying to carry.
Now my brain hurts and I need my cat to knead it! 🐈 😝
I "get" what you are saying. It is an interesting dilemma. Is it my own "ego" (shadow side of Leo) that needs it to be my own "voice"? Or am I preserving the last of what's sacred with humanity?

Your reply made me think of something. Since you also create podcasts, nobody questions that listeners are hearing your voice. So now I'm wondering...what's the difference between your spoken voice and your writing voice? Is voice really the prose on the page, or is prose just one expression of something deeper?
Just look at the ancient oral tradition. Storytellers often passed along stories they hadn't created themselves, yet no one questioned the authenticity of the storyteller.
I had not thought of the irony… that western medicine is quick to dispense meds and slow to consider the body as a holistic system. And yet do we shame people for their little blue pills? 🙃
The entire conversation around "AI" brings to bear what is truly "authentic" anymore. I think about this alot. The Pangram conversation just brought it all to the forefront for me. And, yes, it's not fair to "shame" people for cosmetic enhancements and then use other "enhancements".

This article is quite timely for me - our organization has been pushing hard lately for employees to identify use cases and applications for the company approved AI. I struggle with this vague order and think it feels dangerous to me. As a person that prides herself on articulating a concise message at any level of the org, the idea of using AI to generate that message based on audience absolutely feels insincere. But possibly, it's like driving a car with an automatic transmission after learning to drive manual. You rarely find a manual transmission these days but when you do, there is so much power in the feeling of reconnecting to that.
Anyway, my supervisor asked me today if I am still planning to incorporate a deep dive learning goal in this area before my next review. My response was that I know I probably should but am honestly not motivated to do it at all. It isn't that I don't use AI - I do every day. Mostly for menial and boring tasks. Also for editorial comments if I am communicating something important. Perhaps I even let it zhuzh up a wedding speech I plan to share this weekend for a dear friend of mine. But I am holding on to the art of a manual transmission, the empowerment and expression of self through my writing.

If AI can serve "us" in uplifting humanity, there is merit. I wanted to be transparent with my use and internal debate. My approach is not a prescription nor a vilification. I'm just not ready to relinquish my own creative agency fully.

I love your commitment to authenticity. As we move into north node in Aquarius, I’d like for you to consider that your readers don’t come to your page for your creative method. They came because they were hungry. If you create more for them to consume they will not only be more sated, but they will be full of your thoughts.
If your thoughts are filtered through the smooth delivery of AI, it will still be your thoughts. If you want more of your flavor in the AI writing, talk to the machine as you would a friend. When you speak your truth, use teeth, tenderness, and wisdom. I think you’d be surprised that some things you’ve read that move you, has been written by AI.
You only recognize it when you’ve used that same process.
This is thoughtful. My own tension is not whether AI can sound like me but it's whether I have relinquished my own creative process to another. I suspect I would feel the same tension with a human ghost writer as well.
There is nothing like human-to-human "charge" though. It's what I live for.

Great take. AI helps, but the human core stays. The astrology part also makes it feel personal, not just theory.
To use or not use AI has been a struggle for me. A true love-hate relationship. And the astrology for now wants us to follow our hearts ultimately.
